Used goods benefit pets

Nonprofit group Techs for Pets is collecting furniture, knickknacks, cookware, vintage items, electronics – anything that you don’t use any longer – to sell at its yard sales. All proceeds will benefit homeless Central Valley pets. To donate, call (209) 631-1924, (209) 631-4156 or email techs4pets@hotmail.com to set up a time for pick-up.

Women’s Club breakfast

The Women’s Club will hold its monthly breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. on May 25 at the IOOF Hall in Snelling. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children. Children younger than 3 are free. The breakfast includes pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs cooked to order, coffee and juice.

Library group book sale

Friends of the Merced County Library will hold a sale from May 15 to June 30 at 2100 O St. Fill a bag with hardback fiction or nonfiction books for $3.

50th annual Basque picnic

The 50th annual Basque picnic will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Los Banos Fairgrounds on F St. Bishop Ochoa and the Rev. Mike Lastiri will conduct Mass at 10 a.m.. Karting Super Series Race

Habitat seeking volunteers

Habitat for Humanity of Merced County is looking for people with construction experience and willing hearts and hands to work on short-term projects for senior and handicapped citizens. There will be an orientation at 7 p.m. on May 21 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Outreach Ministry Center, 2916 N. McKee Road.

McSwain advisory meeting

The McSwain Municipal Advisory Council invites all McSwain residents to its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on May 22 at the school. Email djolguin@comcast.net for more information.

Church Harvest Breakfast

The Livingston United Methodist Church will hold its annual Harvest Breakfast and Village Store from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Pioneer Hall at 11695 Olive Ave. Breakfast will be ham and eggs, choice of biscuits and gravy or pancakes. Merced dance party
