Our local bowlers did us proud.

League champions – The Twilighters senior league on Thursday has a new champion this year – Lake Folks, a team made up of people who live in the Don Pedro Lake area. Members with their averages: Sharon Johnson (126), Becky George (98), Lynn George (111) and Reuben Johnson (153).

Yosemite Pro-Am – We had several members of our association rolling in the recent Vanessa Brown Homes pro-am at Yosemite Lanes during their PBA West regional tournament. In the adult division, Dave Egleston took seventh place with a total of 1,743 for $85. In the senior division, Manuel Frade finished 14th with a 1,687 for $40.

McHenry senior no-tap – A group of local bowlers were rolling in McHenry Bowl’s Senior Fun-Day tournament last Friday. The mother-son duo of Dee and Michael Bayer received cash for their efforts.

During the day, they had colored head pins in the rack, and if you rolled a strike you received a chance to spin the wheel for different prizes. The next scheduled senior no-tap is this Friday at Yosemite Lanes at 1 p.m. Entry fee is $13, which includes your side pot. There is no lunch.

League highlights – I saw Hall of Famer Dave Cline was back on the lanes and shot a nice 199 game. ... Keith Docherty rolled a rare 617 in the scratch trio on Monday night. ... And, the queen Betty Brown had a 192 in the Tuesday seniors.
