Vic Hurlbut: Thanks for poppy drive support

June 5, 2014

The Merced Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4327, recently completed its buddy poppy drive. Donation stations were set up at SaveMart, Walgreens, Paul’s Place and the Bar B Q Pit.

The continued generosity of Mercedians was heartwarming. Customers stepped up to the donation cans and honored our veterans, making Memorial Day even more special.

The funds we collected are used to support veterans in need and associated programs.

Post members tried to present a small American flag to all children who walked by. Their smiles were priceless!

Thanks to each business for making our poppy drive a success.

Vic Hurlbut, Merced

Adjutant, VFW Post 4327
