Family Kite Day

Family Kite Day will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Pacheco State Park near Los Banos. The event will include a “Make Your Own Kite Free” table, free face painting, pie-eating contests and bubble-gum-blowing competitions. The only fee is the $10-per-car state park day-use fee. Auto show in Atwater

Big Creek Lumber Co. is scheduled to host an old-car show at its 2050 Industrial Road facility near Castle Commerce Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The event is free to the public and more than 55 cars are expected. Proceeds benefit Run for the Fallen, and Merced and Atwater Police Activities League programs. The event will feature vendors, music, food, raffles, an auction and a bounce house.

Day of Action

United Way of Merced County is scheduled to hold their Day of Action from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 658 W. Main St. in downtown Merced. The event is scheduled to include a book drive, face-painting, storytelling, crafts and other activities. For more information, call (209) 383-4242.

Sailing club shrimp feed

The Lake Yosemite Sailing Club will hold its annual all-you-can-eat shrimp feed and open house from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Lake Yosemite clubhouse. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children 6 to 12. The meal is shrimp, pasta, salad, bread and nonalcoholic beverages. Totally Tejano fundraiser

A “Totally Tejano” dance fundraiser is scheduled to be held 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday for the Merced County Boys & Girls Club, 615 W. 15th St. in Merced. Cost is $10 each or $20 per couple, according to the event flier. For more information, call (209) 722-9922.

Breakfast in Snelling

Snelling will host its final scheduled breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the IOOF Hall. Tickets are $5 for adults; children 3 and younger are free. The meal includes pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, coffee and juice. For more information, call (209) 563-6344.

Merced Bicycle Commission meeting

The Merced Bicycle Commission is scheduled to meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday inside City Council chambers at the Merced Civic Center, 678 W. 18th St. Topics for discussion include the Bear Creek Bikeway and active transportation grant projects.

Covered California event

An Outreach and Special Enrollment Fair for Covered California is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 28 inside the Le Grand High gym, 12961 E. Le Grand Road. Certified enrollment counselors and outreach/education specialists will be on hand to answer questions. Bring a driver’s license or identification, along with income and federal tax information.
