Henry DuPertuis: Give credit to facilities designers

June 30, 2014

Regarding “New building could be boon for university” (Page A1, June 25): The fine column left out an important element in the design of the buildings at UC Merced. The energy-saving features of the buildings were actually designed by the engineers and architects for the facilities. The contractor then installed them according to their plans. For some reason, the names of the actual designers of facilities are often omitted in newspaper articles.
