Summer concert series welcomes 3 Guys Playin’ The Blues

Staff ReportsJuly 2, 2014

After a wonderful start to the summer concert season Thursday, the music and the fun continues this week at Chowchilla’s free Music in the Park concert when band 3 Guys Playin’ The Blues takes the stage. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and join the summer evening fun at Veterans Memorial Park beneath the shade of the big trees .

The sound of 3 Guys Playin’ The Blues can best be described as smooth blues with a scoop of jazz thrown in for extra flavor. Oh, and you will likely see four, or even five, “guys” in the band, but that is another story. You will need to ask the band leader Chester Neville for that story. Nonetheless, the group plays steadily around Fresno including numerous Farmer’s Market events, festivals and many local restaurants.

The group is also involved with the Tower Theater events in downtown Fresno.

The Music in the Park series is presented by the city of Chowchilla and continues through Aug. 7.

Each week features exciting and fun bands from around the Central Valley with an array of musical styles.

The series is made possible with help from the Madera County Arts Council, Pacific Gas and Electric Co., and the Chowchilla District Chamber of Commerce and through funding from local businesses sponsors.

Those sponsors include Farmers Insurance, Christoffersen Insurance Agency, Mid valley Disposal, Fastenal, Loyalty Pharmacy and Roberta Flanagan Realtor Inc.

For a complete concert schedule, visit the city’s website at www.ci.chowchilla.ca.us.
