Alyce Crider: Parade not a place for car sales

July 9, 2014

Atwater had a very nice, long parade to celebrate the Fourth of July. Part of the parade was inappropriate. Some car salesman saw the parade as a way to advertise. He must have taken every car, pickup, etc. off his lot, rounded up his friends and had the vehicles driven in the parade. After the first three vehicles, it became a bit boring. There must have been over 20 for-sale vehicles. My husband and I erroneously thought we were going to a parade to celebrate the community and the Fourth, not attend a used-car show.
