Sams becomes Tigers' all-time leading rusher
James Sams rushed for 162 yards in Friday night's playoff loss to Escalon to become Los Banos' all-time leading rusher, surpassing Rodney Percoats' mark of 3,777 yards, which stood for 20 years. Sams set the Tigers' new yardage mark (3,858) with Percoats on hand.

Stefon Gold scored on a 2-yard plunge in the final minutes to open up a two-touchdown lead and the Buhach Colony High football team eventually held on to a 35-28 win over Antelope on Friday night in the second round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 2 playoffs.

All four area football teams left in the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs will hit the road for long trips in the second round on Friday. Le Grand, Buhach Colony, Los Banos and Chowchilla will travel a combined 990 miles round trip to their playoff destinations.
