Joe C. Havel III April 5, 1943 – December 5, 2007 Joe Charles. Havel III, principal at Rivera Middle School in Merced California, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, CA on December 5, 2007 at the age of 64, surrounded by his loving family. Vistation at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home in Atwater from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday December 10th. Funeral services will be held December 11, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home in Atwater. Burial to follow at Winton District Cemetery immediately following funeral services.

Donald Hughes Stout November 19, 1916 ~ December 4, 2007 Donald Stout, cattle rancher and long-time resident of Merced County, died at his home in Snelling on December 4, 2007, in the company of his family. He was 91 years old. Services will be held Monday, December 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home located at 901 W. Main St, Merced. There will be a committal following at the Snelling Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Merced County VFW Honor Guard. Remembrances may be made to Willow Lodge #121, Snelling, CA.

Primitiva “Nina” Florez November 26, 1925 ~ December 5, 2007 Primitiva “Nina” Florez, 82, a resident of Atwater for 48 years, was born on November 26, 1925 in Coahoma, Texas to the late Modesto and Rita (Marez) Muñoz and passed away on December 5, 2007 in Merced, California at the Mercy Merced Medical Center-Community Campus. Public visitation will be held on Monday, December 10, 2007 from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home in Atwater with a Rosary to follow at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 6:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Atwater at 1:00 P.M. and burial will follow at Winton District Cemetery in Winton, Rev. Tom Timmings will officiate all services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Nina’s name. All funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home-3050 Winton Way in Atwater, California.

She enjoyed driving and traveling and spending time with her family, a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Society.
