Week of the Young ChildLisa JamesSUN-STAR PHOTO BY LISA JAMES In honor of Week of the Young Child students and families of Gateway preschool gathered together at Gateway Community Church on Thursday evening for an Ice Cream Social and dedication of a book made by the students to Merced Mayor Ellie Wooten. In the face of proposed budget cuts and endangered funding, schools from around the County will be in Applegate Park from 10 to 2 on Saturday to end the Week of the Young Child by celebrating and highlighting the importance of preschool.
