Around Town: Class of 1974 reunion

ATWATER -- Atwater High School class of 1974 will host its 35-year reunion from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lake Yosemite. Bring meat, main dish, drinks and a side dish to share, lawn chairs or a blanket. For more information, call (209) 233-2925. All classes are welcome.

Applegate Zoo Camp

The Merced Zoological Society is offering Zoo Camp in two sessions this year; the first one is Monday through Friday and Session II is July 27 to 31 at Applegate Park. Children ages 6 to 9 years will learn about 75 native California animals who live at Applegate Park Zoo. Cost is $40 per child and $35 for second from the same family. ATWATER

Bark for Life

Merced County Community will host Bark for Life, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 11 at the Veterans Park in Atwater; signups start at 7:15 a.m. The day's events will include a one-mile walk for the canines and their owners, doggy games and activities, demonstrations, photographs and food. LIVINGSTON

Soccer registration

The Livingston Recreation Department will hold its final registration day for the youth soccer league from 5 to 7 p.m. on July 15 at Livingston City Hall, 1416 C St. Registration is $55 and the divisions are Pee Wees, 3- and 4-year-olds, under 6s, under 8s, under 10s, under 12s and 14s. Merced class of '59

The class of 1959 from the Merced Union High School is planning its 50-Year class reunion at 6 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Branding Iron Restaurant. Cost is $50 per couple or $25 per person and money and reservations must be received by Aug. 1. The committee will make arrangements for a Sunday brunch if there is interest. Club looking for cars

The Boys and Girls Club is looking for cars to be donated. The cars will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to local clubs. For more information, call (800) 246-0493.
