Valley roads get ‘poor’ grades

A growing number of city streets and county roads across California are deteriorating faster than local government budgets can maintain them, according to a report released Tuesday by the League of California Cities and the California State Association of Counties. Roads across much of Merced County got moderate ratings, but Merced and Dos Palos received poor ratings, the equivalent of an “F.”
