An independent policy and research center recognized UC Merced this month, citing about 10 ongoing programs as examples of where the university has worked to connect with the region and the city for which it’s named.
Officials from Merced County’s The Bus are planning new route schedules to start Feb. 2 to improve the overall transit system and provide efficient service to the greatest number of people in the county, according to a news release.
Greg Hostetler donated 8.33 acres of land near Merced College to the Merced High Quarterback Club. The plan is to sell the land and use the money for building the football stadium. The land is currently for sale at $2.1 million.

Those planning to march will gather on West 24th Street, in front of the Amtrak station, before the 11 a.m. procession south along Martin Luther King Jr. Way to the Merced County Fairgrounds.
