Merced High class of 1972 40th reunion

Mariposa Farm Bureau dinner and auction
The Mariposa County Farm Bureau will hold its annual dinner and auction at 5 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Mariposa Fairgrounds. Tickets are $25 each and children younger than 12 are free. The dinner includes hors d'oeuvres, rib-eye steak and entertainment by DJ Ted Dwyer. Proceeds will benefit high school scholarships, FFA and 4-H programs as well as Ag in the Classroom. Community cleanup planned for Oct. 13
Golden Valley Health Centers and residents of South Merced will hold a Community Cleanup Day from 9 to 11 a.m. on Oct. 13. Children's Miracle Walk at UC Merced
The 2nd annual Children's Miracle Walk will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 14 at UC Merced, 5200 N. Lake Road. Check-in time is 9:30. The event is open to the community and will include a health fair. Club Mercedes to serve soup Sunday
Club Mercedes will serve menudo every Sunday at 8 a.m. until noon or whenever the soup runs out. The cost is $8 for a large bowl and includes tortillas, coffee and a Mexican pastry. Other beverages are also available for an extra cost. Dine in or take out. For more information, call (209) 383-9906.
Cat Kingdom seeking volunteers for events
Last Hope Cat Kingdom is looking for volunteers for Saturday and Sunday adoption events at PetSmart. Volunteers bring cats and dogs in to the store and give an hour or two to help find homes for these special pets. Please call (209) 388-0164 or (209) 357-5425 for more information or to volunteer.
