Social media strategies
Merced College Community Services will offer classes on becoming a social media strategist from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays starting this week and running through May 17 at 630 W. 19th St. Call (209) 384-6224 for more information.
Plant sale at college
Merced College will hold its annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at itsgreenhouses. There will be vegetables, herbs, perennials, succulents, fruit trees, shade trees and more. There will be signs to lead you off M Street. Call (209) 631-2026.
Cancer support group
A cancer support group will meet on the last Wednesday of each month, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., at the Mercy UC Davis Cancer Center, 3850 G St. Meetings are open to anyone who has survived or is battling cancer; family members and friends are welcome. For more information, Call (209) 564-3600.
Beta Sigma Phi fete
Members of the Merced Area Council of Beta Sigma Phi will celebrate their 82nd Founder’s Day at 11:30 a.m. on April 27 at the Branding Iron restaurant. Members from Merced, Mariposa, Atwater and Los Banos as well as any former members are invited to attend. Call (209) 723-1169 to make a reservation.
Hmong Resource Fair
The Hmong Student Association at UC Merced will hold a Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 27 at Yosemite Hall at the Merced County Fairgrounds, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Call (559) 240-3721 or email zxiong2@ ucmerced.edu.
Rose and iris show
ATWATER — The Atwater Garden Club will hold its 35th annual Rose and Iris Festival, with registration from 7 to 9:30 a.m. April 27. The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Atwater Community Center, 750 Bellevue Road. Admission is free, but tickets for a 2 p.m. tea must be purchased in advance.
