Bus trip to Black Oak set

The Native Daughters of the Golden West will host a casino bus trip to Black Oak Casino, leaving at 8 a.m. at Atwater’s Target and 8:30 a.m. at Merced’s Walmart on Saturday. Cost is $25 and must be paid in advance. Bus returns at 3 p.m. Call (209) 722-0349 for reservations.

College hosts art exhibit

Merced College Art Gallery will present an exhibition of painter Laura Corallo-Titus, titled “Aqueous,” Oct. 23 through Nov. 14 at Merced College, 3600 M St., at the theater building. Reception at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Call (209) 384-6064 for more information.

Online testing available

The Merced Adult School is announcing that its Pearson Vue electronic test center for GED testing is now open. This will replace the pencil-and-paper testing in January. People may sign up to take the current test in an online format. Call (209) 385-6445 or email dglass@muhsd.org.

Legion holds theme nights

The American Legion will host Taco Tuesday and Trivia Night every week from 6 to 8 p.m. at 939 W. Main St. They also host Hamburger Night on Fridays at 6 p.m. Call (209) 722-0940 for more information.

Phone donations accepted

The Merced County Area Agency on Aging is requesting the donation of unneeded cellphones for distribution to Merced County seniors age 60 and older. Seniors will be able to call 911 for emergency assistance only with these phones. They should have a charging unit and a battery that will hold a charge. Call (209) 385-7550 for details.

Shelter needs supplies

The D Street Shelter is in need of some basic hygiene supplies such as shampoo, conditioner, small bars of soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste and similar items. Family support available

Merced County’s branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness holds biweekly support groups for families affected by serious mental illness. For more information, call (209) 381-6844 and a volunteer will contact you within 48 hours.

Market runs Saturdays

The Merced Flea and Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. behind the fairgrounds, 900 G St. EBT is accepted.

Republican group hosts lunch
