Ada Givens fall festival

Cioppino dinner, auction

The Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce will have a cioppino dinner and auction at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Merced County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $50 each or $400 to sponsor a table of eight. Free Over Three pet adoption event

The Merced SPCA will hold its first Free Over Three adoption event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at the center, 1021 E. Childs Ave. Any pet over the age of 3 will be adopted for free after approval and a home visit following the event. You must be a resident of Merced County. The Atwater VFW Post 9946 will hold its annual barbecue tri-tip dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the VFW Memorial Hall, 1390 Broadway. Tickets are $7. The meal is tri-tip, baked beans, salad, roll and ice cream. Call (209) 358-7224. Proceeds will benefit community and veterans programs.

New Year’s dinner, dance
