Tea Party meeting
The Merced-Atwater Tea Party will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m Thursday at the VFW Hall, Fifth Street and Broadway, Atwater. The speaker will be Merced Mayor Stan Thurston.

The Merced AARP Chapter 282 will hold its November meeting early due to the Thanksgiving holiday. It will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Merced Senior Center, 755 W. 15th St. Martin Rose of the Merced Rescue Mission will speak about the group. SPCA home tour
Four decorated homes and the Vista Ranch and Cellars will be on the Merced SPCA’s annual Christmas tour of homes, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 9. There will be a lunch, gift baskets and raffle for prizes including a bicycle, diamond necklace and an original watercolor painting. Tickets are $15 each and can be obtained at Maciel & Co. in the Merced Mall, Christina’s Fine Clothing in the Galleria and at Expressions of Love Floral, Atwater. As part of Geography Awareness Week, the city of Merced is holding an open house GIS Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Sam Pipes Room at the Merced Civic Center. The event will feature GIS demonstrations by city departments, the Merced Irrigation District, Merced County Association of Governments, UC Merced SpARC Center and Merced Visitors Center. This event is open to the public.
