Mental Health Board meeting
The next Merced County Mental Health Board meeting is scheduled Dec. 3 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Dec. 3. at the Mental Health Department, 1137 B St..
The 4th Annual Winter Wonderland at Calaveras Big Trees State Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 27. Events include a scenic wagon ride inside the park, crafts for kids, music, hot cocoa, apple cider and cookies. Tickets are $12.50 for adults, $8.50 for children under 12 (includes park entrance fee if purchased online). ‘Nutcracker’ at Buhach
Merced Academy of Dance will perform “The Nutcracker” at Buhach Colony High School at 7 p.m. Dec. 6, and 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 7. Tickets are $15 for children and seniors and $18 for adults. Tickets are available at the Merced MulticulturalArts Center and at the door.
Volunteer tutors needed
Volunteer tutors are needed at the Merced County Library to help adults improve their reading skills. There will be an orientation from 6 to 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at the library, 2100 O St. A training session will be held 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the library. The orientation is a prerequisite to training. Both sessions are free. For information, call (209) 385-7391. RSVP required.
Fuel cell technology lecture
ATWATER A UC Merced lecture on fuel cell technology will be held at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 7 at Castle Air Museum, 5505 Santa Fe Drive.
