Merced is looking for groups to operate the McNamara Park Community Center and provide youth programming and other activities. Groups can use the building at no cost; the city will pay for utilities. In order to qualify, applicants must have 501(c)(3) status, be able to provide $1 million in insurance and have been in existence for at least 6 months. A joint application by two or more groups is acceptable. The deadline for applications is noon, July 31. For more information, visit www.cityofmerced.org or the Parks and Recreation Department office on the first floor of the Merced Civic Center, 678 W. 18th St.
