Bands at the Star Club

Flashback will perform at the Star Club 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday, no cover. All shows age 21 and over. The Star Club is at 1331 W. Main St. in downtown Merced.

Open Mike Night

at The Partisan

Pinback at the

Merced Theatre

Renowned rock band Pinback is scheduled to perform at the Merced Theatre at 8:30 p.m. Jan 18. Also scheduled to perform is Ahwahnichi. Merced Symphony Winter Concert

The Merced Symphony’s winter concert “Villains and Heroes,” is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Merced Theatre. The concert will feature classic and modern favorites, from Superman to Ravel’s Bolero. The Merced Theatre is located at 301 W. Main St. in downtown Merced. Shanghai Circus at the Merced Theatre

Back by popular demand, the New Shanghai Circus returns Jan. 17 to the Art Kamangar Center at the Merced Theatre. The show is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $29 for adults, $22 for students and $10 for children. The Merced Theatre is at 301 W. Main St.

“I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” at Playhouse Merced.

The sketch comedy “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” opens Jan. 10 at Playhouse Merced and runs through Jan. 26. Tickets are on sale for Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. General admission tickets are $22, $20 for seniors, $12 for students and $10 for children. Tickets can be purchased by calling (209) 725-8587 or by visiting the box office at 452 W. Main St. in downtown Merced from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Lavender Nights at La Cascada

Lavender Nights at La Cascada is scheduled for 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. Jan. 23. The event will feature best drag queens and kings the Valley has to offer, in addition to DJs, drink specials and performances by Jayy Lee and Moon Trent, according to the event’s Facebook page. Admission is $5 and all proceeds help support Merced Full Spectrum. La Cascada is located at 2611 N. Santa Fe Ave. For more information visit the event’s Facebook page.

Islands at The Partisan

Indie-rock band Islands is scheduled to perform 8 p.m. Jan. 31 at The Partisan. Tickets are $10, ages 21 and up only. The Partisan is at 432 W. Main St. in downtown Merced. For more information, visit www.thepartisanmerced.com.

Etta James tribute concert

Vocalist Cheryl Lockett will perform a tribute concert to the blues of Etta James 7 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Merced Arts Center’s Black Box Theatre, located at 645 W. Main St. in downtown Merced. Tickets are $25. For more information call (209) 720-4997.
