I don’t know about you, but this week’s heat has me critically thinking about how to stay cool and still look professional.
When summer is in full swing I am normally desperate to wear something that does not have high amounts of polyester or nylon in it. I own quite a few dress pants and they are fabulous in winter and horribly hot in summer.
Luckily I have found the perfect solution: linen pants. If you are among the people who have known me longer than a year, your jaw probably just dropped. I will admit I was not a fan of them a couple years ago, but now I have a whole new appreciation for them.
In previous years, I did not like how stores were styling them and let’s be honest: We normally buy outfits that are straight off the mannequin. Now that styles have evolved and stores are experimenting more, I love linen pants.
There are a million ways to style linen pants.
You can dress them up for a business meeting or dress them down for a casual Saturday night. My favorite brand of linen pants is Level 99. They carry a wide variety of styles and colors that are always on trend for the season.
I discovered them long before I ever became a fashion blogger and my love for them has only grown. For the outfit in the picture I stayed true to my own style and created a look that is perfect for work.
I like to wear beige pants because they are so versatile and can be mixed with almost any color top. I chose a white blouse because it makes the outfit look crisp and fresh. Also, white tends to breathe more than any other color. I added a black belt to create a defining waistline.
I feel that because white and beige are so close in color you need a dark accessory to offset them, and a belt is that perfect accessory. I also added a mint green clutch because I can’t stand an outfit without some color. I have said it in the past and I’ll say it again: Never be afraid to step outside the box.
As I mentioned earlier, there are tons of ways to style linen pants and one of my favorite ways is with a blazer. Blazers have a way of dressing up any outfit and adding a sense of sass to the ensemble. I recommend wearing a simple shirt under the blazer and pairing it with linen pants and pointed-toe heels.
I think it is a great combination and will help any woman feel classy. You can always switch up your outfits by adding simple details. The smallest things give your outfit a completely new look. All you need is a statement necklace and a trendy handbag and you are set for any occasion.
Right now H&M has a bunch of lightweight blazers that come in various colors and are all adorable. Lucky for us they just opened a store in Fresno!
