A 21-year-old Livingston man was arrested Saturday for possessing firearms as a felon and gang member.
Javier Guardado was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and gang enhancements.
The Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit received information that Guardado was in possession of firearms.
Officers served a search warrant at Guardado’s home in the 1500 block of Davis Street at 11:41 a.m. Saturday.
The search yielded two rifles, ammunition, Xanax pills and gang symbols inside Guardado’s home. He was arrested because he isn’t allowed to possess firearms as a convicted felon.
Guardado was booked into the Merced County Jail.
A juvenile inside the home was also arrested and booked into juvenile hall for receiving stolen property and gang enhancements.
