Lincoln the service dog is helping Merced kids

Franklin Elementary School first graders are going to have a weekly visitor for the rest of year, according to MCSD officials. Lincoln, a 1-year-old Goldendoodle and certified service dog, began visiting students on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, for a program called Learning with Lincoln, said Sara Sandrik, public information officer for Merced City School District. His owner, Mary Brown, and Lincoln will visit students twice a week for two hours a day.
