The Merced County Health Department will hold flu vaccination clinics this week in Merced and Los Banos.The clinics in Merced will be held Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the county health department, 260 East 15th St.
The Los Banos clinic will be held Thursday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Los Banos Fairgrounds in the Germino Building, at the corner of 5th and F streets.
At the clinics, the health department will provide the H1N1 vaccine to individuals only in target groups. The groups include pregnant women with a note from a doctor; people who live with or care for children younger than six months of age; health care and emergency services personnel with direct, face-to-face patient contact; children from six months through four years of age with permission from a parent or guardian; and children ages five through 18 years of age who have chronic medical conditions and have permission from a parent or guardian.
The health department is advising people to call their primary health care provider first for a flu vaccination.
