The City of Merced began sweeping streets for leaves this month. The following map shows the pick-up dates around the city.
The city is divided into four areas. Each area will be allotted three days every two weeks for collection. The program will continue until January. Collected leaves are used for mulch and compost on local farms, the city said.
The city recommends not parking at the curb on collection days. Leaves should be swept into rows at least four feet from the curb.
No brush or grass will be collected.
