The respected National Journal is out with the magazine's annual vote rankings and as always they are worth look.
San Joaquin Valley Democrats Dennis Cardoza of Merced and Jim Costa of Fresno, for instance, can point to the vote scores as evidence that they are in the moderate wing of their party. Cardoza voted more conservatively than nearly 45 percent of his fellow Democrats last year, the rankings show, while Costa voted more conservatively than 46 percent of House Democrats.
The National Journal staff compiled the scores by examining what they determined to be the key social, economic and foreign policy votes of the year.
