A brazen home invasion was reported in a south Atwater neighborhood Tuesday as gunmen robbed a 23-year-old man in broad daylight.
Details are sketchy about the incident, which happened around 10:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of Clear Creek Court. The victim returned home, carrying his 10-month-old daughter in his arms. He entered his home and was approached by at least three armed robbers, according to Deputy Tom MacKenzie, sheriff's spokesman.
The robbers demanded money at gunpoint, taking the victim's daughter and putting her in a crib. The robbers tied up the victim and stayed in the residence for at least 30 minutes.
After ransacking the home, the robbers drove away in the victim's car. The sheriff's department received a call from the victim around noon, MacKenzie said.

Deputies responded to the scene and found the victim's car abandoned a few blocks away from his home. Nobody has been arrested, and the victim and his daughter weren't injured.
Details about the robbers are few. The victim reported they were Latino men in their late teens or early 20s.
Sheriff's investigators are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call (209) 385-7472. Calls are kept confidential, and you can remain anonymous.
