The Merced Breakfast Lions Club and Hinds Hospice said they will sponsor a drive-through chicken and rigatoni dinner-to-go to benefit the Merced office of the hospice.
The drive-through will be held Wednesday, June 30, between 4:30 and 7 p.m. at the Italo American Lodge at the corner of West 18th and U streets in Merced.
The cost is $10. Tickets are available at the Hinds Hospice office at 410 W. Main Street; A Blooming Affair Floral, 463 W. Main Street; Hope Christian Stores, 3144 G Street; and Peraino's Jewelers, 2844 N. G Street.
Since it was founded in 1981, Hinds Hospice has supported the terminally ill and their families throughout Merced, Fresno, and Madera counties, including patients in the often underserved rural areas within these counties, Hinds said in a news release.
It described its mission as “to uphold the dignity and ease the suffering of the terminally ill while supporting their loved ones, and those who are grieving.”
Hinds Hospice added that its focus has grown to encompass outpatient hospice care services, an inpatient hospice home in Fresno serving all three counties, the Hinds Hospice Center for Grief and Loss in both Fresno and Merced, a pediatric hospice program, Angel Babies for prenatal and infant loss, multicultural outreach and physician education.
