Playhouse Merced said its annual gala will be held Saturday Aug. 21, at the Merced Senior Center starting at 6 p.m.
This year, with the theme “Dreams, Fantasy, Drama and All That Jazz,” Playhouse Merced will recreate a 1920s speakeasy, complete with fedoras, flappers, secret passwords and perhaps bathtub gin, the organization said in a news release.
Tickets are $70 a person, which includes catered dinner, hosted drinks and live entertainment. Tables of 8 may also be reserved for $750, which include added upgrades. Reserve and pay for a table before July 31, and receive a $100 discount. Tickets may be purchased by calling Playhouse Merced at (209) 725-8587 or stopping by the box office at 452 West Main Street in downtown Merced.
Playhouse Merced is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization that provides live theater and arts education rooted in community involvement, the news release said.
