Police officers arrested a Merced man for the theft of a transmission fluid exchange machine from Toyota Technical Center on Wednesday night.

The landlord of a home on the 1400 block of 16th Street notified police of the stolen item after finding it in the backyard, hidden under a sheet, police said.

In the same backyard, police also found stolen property from Costco and San Joaquin Glass on Main Street.

Police arrested 39-year old Denero Waters in connection with the burglaries.
