SummerFest said that because of popular demand, it will include pony rides for children as well as all the other vendors residents have come to enjoy at the downtown Thursday event.
Children will be able to ride ponies in Bob Hart Square. SummerFest also said it will include more kid-friendly events in coming weeks.
The event, organized by The D magazine, runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and will also feature music by Chris "Kazoo" Casuga and New China in front of The Partisan.
The community stage will feature firefighters offering tips for fire prevention.
Never miss a local story.
Food vendors will be selling kettle corn, corn on the cob, bread, Chinese food and more. Market vendors include a nursery and several local, organic farms. There will also be several craft and commercial booths.
SummerFest will be 6 to 9 p.m. every Thursday until Sept. 2. Main Street will be closed to automobile traffic from K to M streets.
