SummerFest organizers said that activities Thursday will include a rock wall for climbing, pony rides, local vegetables and fresh trout.
The event, organized by The D magazine, goes from 6 to 9 p.m. and will feature live music, the Desert Wind Dancers, CPR awareness lessons and classic cars. The pony rides will be near the corner of Main and M streets.
"Interest in this community event continues to grow," The D Publisher Tom Price said. "Anyone who hasn't been downtown for SummerFest is missing out on one of Merced's best events."
Food vendors will be selling kettle corn, corn on the cob, hot dogs and more. Market vendors include a nursery, organic farms and a business that sells fresh trout. There will also be several craft and commercial booths.
SummerFest will be 6 to 9 p.m. every Thursday until Sept. 2. Main Street will be closed to automobile traffic from K to M streets.
