Junior Leadership Merced, a program of the Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce, said it's looking for a few good high school students.
Now entering its seventh year, the program has seen over 120 Merced-area high school students graduate with great foundational experience in practical leadership.
All 11th- and 12th-grade students residing or attending school in Merced County are eligible to apply for the program, which features several one-day sessions throughout the year, as well as a three-day retreat. Upon completion of the program, the students will have earned 1 unit of credit at Merced College through Jonae Pistoresi’s national award-winning “Thrive and Survive” program. Students participate in a number of activities that focus on business, education, government, and community involvement in Merced County.
The application is available on the chamber’s website at www.merced-chamber.com, as well as any of the career centers located at Merced Union High School District campuses.
Never miss a local story.
Applications are to be turned in to either the chamber’s office or an MUHSD career center/student body office by Friday, Sept. at 5 p.m.
