Merced photographer Jay Sousa will lead a landscape photography workshop Sept. 25-26 at Yosemite National Park.
The workshop will cover exposure, white balance, selecting the proper light, composition, and developing a creative style as a photographer. The class includes time for lectures, fieldwork and critiques, as well as one-on-one instruction. Students will meet for an orientation one week prior to the workshop at Sousa's studio.
The weekend will include a night photo shoot of the full moon.
The workshop will be held at Cedar Lodge on the Merced River, just outside the park. Lodging is available at Cedar Lodge or nearby at the Indian Flat RV Park.
The cost of the workshop is $150 and students must provide their own lodging, meals and transportation, as well as a camera.
Sousa, a former staff photographer at the Merced Sun-Star, opened his own studio in 1984. He also teaches photography at Merced College.
