Merced County Fair announces winners of hay growing contest

The results are in for the 2011 Merced County Fair's hay growers' contest. The annual competition is open only to hay growers living in Merced County. Judging was completed and lab tests were conducted before the fair.

All entries were from the current 2011 crop. Lab tests include testing a sample of the hay for specific nutrient content and the physical judging is based on baled conformation.

The results are:
