Memorial Hospital Los Banos said the West Side Needs Assessment will launch a community health survey for the city of Los Banos in September. The goal is to collect data from Los Banos-area residents to obtain feedback on what they feel are the greatest health needs in their community.
The community health needs assessment examines health status, use of health services, access and barriers to care and other factors affecting the health of Los Banos residents. The in-depth report will help Los Banos area agencies, including Memorial Hospital Los Banos, Los Banos Community Resource Counsel, Bethal Community Church, Merced County Public Health Department and Los Banos Unified School District, make decisions about the future of health care and prevention in the area by identifying how Los Banos compares to the state on many dimensions of health care.
A random telephone survey will start in September. Survey feedback is encouraged and will help city and county organizations in their efforts to provide programs and services that will most effectively meet the needs of adults in the Los Banos area. There will be an opportunity for five residents to win $100 for completion of the survey.
