The Merced County Arts Council will highlight arts events throughout the month of October in honor of National Arts and Humanities month. There will be an arts-related event every day of the week in October, except Halloween.
One reason for changing the format of the festival is to spread the focus around to various venues and businesses, Staci Santa, Arts Council executive director, said in a news release.
The result will be the re-tooled ArtsMerced Festival, a month-long festival of the Merced art scene. The events calendar will cover everything from live theater, musical concerts and gallery openings to open mics, art talks and live arts competitions. The calendar will also involve several arts organizations and local businesses including Playhouse Merced, Merced College, Merced Art Hop, The Partisan, J&R Tacos, Forte Frozen Yogurt, Gallery on the Square, Fernando’s Bistro and several others.
