Merced police are investigating a Friday night shooting in South Merced that injured one man.
Few details are known because police say the victim was uncooperative with officers.
Police responded to reports of gunfire shortly before midnight Friday in the 400 block of West 11th Street, but didn't find evidence of a shooting.
The next day, officers received a call from Mercy Medical Center staff around 9:44 a.m. about a man being treated for a gunshot wound. Police confirmed the victim was shot in South Merced, but were unable to get additional information. Police said the victim is affiliated with a street gang.

Officers returned to the scene at West 11th Street and found several shell cases in the alley.
