Cal Fire announced the graduation of the paid call firefighter class of 2011. Such firefighters respond to emergencies from their home or work.
The ceremony will be held at Merced County Fire Station 62, Castle Airport Station, 3405 Hardstand Drive in Atwater at 7 p.m. today.
Twenty six students have been taking the training course. The students received more than 140 hours of required classroom training and more hours of hands-on practice under the direct supervision of the Merced County Fire Department Training Bureau.
A reception will be held immediately after the graduation ceremony, followed by the students being released to their stations to serve in Merced County.
