Hope Christian Store will celebrate the store’s new expansion Saturday, Oct. 22. As a focal part of the grand reopening, attendees will have the chance to receive empty shoe boxes to pack full of gifts to send to needy children all around the world with Operation Christmas Child.
The store’s owners are Bud and Linda Mayhew.
Operation Christmas Child plans to hand deliver gift-filled shoe boxes to more than 8.5 million needy children experiencing war, natural disaster, poverty, terrorism and disease in more than 100 countries.
More than 200 shoe boxes will be handed out to those who attend the opening of the store, and people encouraged to bring the boxes back filled with toys, hygiene items and school supplies. The first 30 people to return the shoe box gifts to Hope Christian will receive a special gift that will be added to the filled box and sent to a child.
Never miss a local story.
The store’s reopening will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and there will be a live band, grilled hot dogs, giveaway items and store-wide sales. The new location is 3144 G. St. Merced, CA 95340.
