"ArtsAlive is one of the coolest events that the Arts Council has going on, said Staci Santa, executive director of the Merced County Arts Center. "It is a challenge for artists, a 'teachable moment' for arts enthusiasts, and an economic engine for the arts sector."
There are also prizes from local businesses that support the arts, such as theater tickets to Playhouse Merced, dinner at J&R Tacos or Hangar Cafe, or tickets to an upcoming Downtown Life Magazine indie music show or a meal from House of Dogz.
