A 63-year-old Los Banos man who died in a motorcycle accident Friday on Highway 152 in western Madera County has been identified as David Pennington, according to the Madera County Coroner's Office.
Pennington was reportedly driving at 6:20 p.m. westbound at a high rate of speed in the highway's fast lane, southwest of Chowchilla. His Harley Davidson hit a Jeep Wrangler, driven by David Lee Standridge, 57, of Escalon, as he switched lanes while approaching Road 9, the California Highway Patrol said.
Pennington's motorcycle flipped, throwing him onto the left turn lane of Highway 152. The bike came to a stop on the grass median.
Pennington was pronounced dead at the scene. Standridge was not hurt in the accident.
