Police are searching for two robbers after a home invasion reported early Monday morning in central Merced.
The robbery was reported shortly after 2 a.m. in the 600 block of Seminole Drive, northeast of East Olive Avenue and G Street.Merced police said they're releasing only limited information about the robbery in order to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, according the Lt. Tom Trindad.
The victim, a male in his 50s, was inside a bedroom when the robbers entered through an unlocked door. One of the robbers was armed with a weapon and hit the victim in the face. The robbers tied up the victim and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, Trindad said.
The robbers were described as Hispanic males, one heavyset at about 5-feet-8-inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds with light colored clothing, while the other was described as having a thin build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. Both robbers had scarves tied over their faces, Trindad said.
