A 43-year-old woman was injured in a drive-by shooting Sunday evening in Livingston, and police don't believe the victim was the intended target.
No suspects are in custody and the woman is expected to survive.
The shooting was reported about 6:30 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Eighth Street, according to Livingston interim Police Chief Chris Soria.
The victim was inside her apartment when a small compact vehicle drove by. Someone inside the vehicle fired six or seven shots. One of the shots struck the victim in her side. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on Eighth Street.

Police and paramedics responded to the scene, and the victim was flown to a Modesto hospital for treatment.
Although police are still investigating a possible motive, Soria said the woman didn't have any gang ties. "I don't believe she was the intended victim," Soria said. "I think (the shooters) might have been going for somebody else."
Still, Soria said the area where the shooting happened is known for gang activity.
A description of the suspects wasn't available.
