Are you a fan of John Denver? Did you ever write him a fan letter? Did he write back to you? If so, Playhouse Merced would like include them for their upcoming production of "Almost Heaven: The Music of John Denver."
Director Rob Hypes is looking for local Central Valley fans who have copies of letters they wrote to John Denver or letters he wrote to them. If selected, those letters will be read on stage during the show as part of "Almost Heaven" when it opens for a three-weekend run starting Friday, April 13.
"Almost Heaven: The Songs of John Denver"" is a concert-style musical that features almost 30 songs made famous by singer/songwriter John Denver ("Rocky Mountain High," "Sunshine on My Shoulders," "Annie's Song," "Leaving on a Jet Plane" and "Calypso) and features a chronological look at Denver's life.
Playhouse Merced's production is directed by Rob Hypes, musically directed by Joel Scott Shade and features local singers G.B. Blackmon III, Dianne Kocher, Jim Kocher, Nancy O'Bryan, Beki Rush and Corey Strauss.
This show is rated "A" for all ages.

"Almost Heaven" opens April 13 and plays three weekends through April 29. Tickets are on sale now for Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 and Sunday matinees at 2.
