Court Appointed Special Advocates of Merced County (CASA) will hold its second annual fundraiser, "Jammin’ for CASA,” April 28 at 6 p.m. at the Merced County Fairgrounds (Pavilion). Fernando's Bistro will provide dinner and there will be live music and other entertainment.
Merced County has one of the highest rates of children in the foster care system in the state, CASA said in a news release. CASA helps train advocates so they are equipped to work with children in the foster care system from the Merced County Juvenile Court's Dependency Program.
The advocate is dedicated to working to see that each child gets the resources that are in that child's long-term best interests, according to the news release. Advocates’s efforts also help the court in making the best decisions about children om the system.
Sponsors can reserve a special table available at $500, $750 or $1,000 at the fundraiser.
