The Merced County Chamber announced the winners of the Community Awards to be presented at the quarterly luncheon on April 12 at the Branding Iron Restaurant.
Receiving the Good Business Citizen of the Quarter Award for demonstrating excellence in her professional career, her dedication to community prosperity and for her personal accomplishments and advocacy for women in business will be Cynthia Montoya.
She is service officer for WestAmerica Bank Merced and is also a volunteer for the Youth Accountability Board, helping troubled youngsters get back on track and become productive citizens.
Receiving the Volunteer of the Quarter Awards will be Dorothy Bizzini and Judi Arthur. Bizzini is a community volunteer, former registered nurse and PR director of Mercy Hospital. She and her husband own the Atwater/Merced Veterinary Clinic. She’s a member of the Atwater United Methodist Church where she is chair of the Board of Trustees and also chair of the board of the Castle Family Health Centers. She’s been a member of the Merced County Chamber of Commerce for more than 26 years and is also a member of the Atwater Chamber of Commerce where she served as president. She’s also a member of the Rotary Club of Atwater and sits on the CSU Stanislaus Foundation Board of Trustees. She serves on the California Commission of Emergency Medical Authority.
Arthur was recently honored as the Merced County Historical Society's docent of the year for her work over the past 10 years at the Merced County Courthouse Museum. She serves on the Merced Theater Foundation board and the Courthouse Museum board.
