The Carlos Vieira Foundation (CVF), a nonprofit that has been raising money for special causes since 2007, said it’s expanding its direct-help program into Madera County.
The main focus of the program is to help families that have loved ones with autism. Through many types of fundraising the foundation said it’s been able to provide specific grants to families living in Merced and Stanislaus counties that have children with autism. Because of successful fundraising efforts, the foundation said in a news release it will expand the program into Madera County.
The CVF organization is made up of members of 51 FIFTY Enterprises in Livingston. 51 FIFTY is a brand that started in 2007 with a NASCAR team owned by Carlos Vieira, who’s also a driver. Since then, 51 FIFTY has expanded into an apparel company, sunglass company and more recently an energy srink company. To further help the foundation, a percentage of all energy drink sales go directly to the foundation to help families living with autism, according to the news release.
CVF said it’s raised and donated money for autism organizations such as Autism Speaks, Families for Effective Autism Treatment and Challenged Family Resource Center. In 2010 the foundation started a Direct Help Program which gives families living with autism in Merced County the opportunity to receive a grant for a child with autism, the news release said.
There are specific requirements on the application and the money needs to go directly towards benefiting a child with autism, the foundation said.
Families in Merced, Stanislaus and Madera counties who want to apply for a Direct Help Grant can go to www.carlosvieirafoundation.org to fill out an application and mail it in. After an assessment is done by the review team, a decision will be made on whether the grant can be awarded. Each child can receive up to $500 a year. Grants will continue to be given out as long as money is available, according to the release.
The foundation holds fundraising events throughout the year. For more information on any upcoming events, call (855) 513-4389 or contact by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
