The Merced County Arts Council announced its new season of the Second Saturdays concert series for kids.
This year’s season focuses on cultures and celebrations from around the world. This month, Noelle Chandler shares Pinkling’s Inklings for children ages 2-5 years old.
Pinkling's Inklings is a half-hour theater performance piece produced weekly, in the vein of a half-hour TV show, minus commercials. It’s a live theatre experience geared towards ages 2-5 and funded by the Merced County First 5.
Noelle Chandler is the education director at Playhouse Merced and the operator of the Merced-based child-development program, Miss Noelle's Musikgarten. Noelle has a degree in Theatre Performance from the University of Maryland and performed, taught, wrote, choreographed and directed for youth in the D.C. area before moving to Merced to work for the Playhouse.
The Second Saturdays Concerts for Kids program was created by the arts council in June 2008 to expose young children to live performing arts. It’s held the second Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Merced Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main St. in downtown Merced. Tickets are $5 for children and parents get in free. For information on the concert contact the council at (209) 388-1090.
